2005 was an interesting year. I’m not going to list all the things that happened around the world that caught my eye, far too many have already published their own lists.
For me, 2005 was a turning point. Is a year too big to be a point in time? I don’t know, but looking back it marked a time in my life where so many changes occurred, that as a whole it feels like a significant mark in time for me.
I originally planned a nice lengthy article weighing the importance of the events in both my personal and business life. But, after much deliberation I’ve decided against listing all these things here.
Some things, I’ve finally managed to deal with on a personal level and I don’t want to have to deal with them again. Other subjects are just too new and fresh that I haven’t yet learned to deal with them at all. I’m actually still quite in shock and have really not even been able to discuss them fully with my own family.
While the negative things are tough to deal with and even talk about, the good is hard to keep to yourself. But, I’m going to be strong and remain quiet.
I am going to say that while 2005 had its extremes, both up and down, 2006 promises to bring a whole slew of new challenges and opportunities. Some of which I know are coming and try as I may, I’m sure to be unprepared. But, all I can do is hope that the good outweighs the bad.
