Boston Skyline

Founded in the summer of 2000, Outer Level began life as a software consulting firm developing custom applications and websites for clients in the Boston area.

In 2005 Outer Level diversified by releasing its first Mac OS X product, Bullfrog. In March of 2007, we released our second product, LicenseKeeper. Then in July of 2008 we introduced our first iPhone game, Bullfrog Touch.

Outer Level Corp. is a privately held company located on the beautiful waterfront of Boston, Massachusetts.

Résumé / CV

Jon started programming at the age of ten on his trusty old Commodore VIC-20 by copying source code out of old computer magazines (he wanted to make games like Atari). Things really started to pick up when he learned to type in high school on an IBM typewriter. Jon earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Purdue University (he wanted to be an Astronaut) and made it half way through a second Bachelor's degree in Film & Animation from Columbia College Chicago (he wanted to make special effects for movies).

Somehow, he ended up in Boston (go Red Sox) working primarily in the financial industry. But, once he discovered the Macintosh, Mac OS X, and Cocoa it wasn't long before he was working towards releasing Outer Level's first product for the Mac, Bullfrog. This fun little arcade game was the launching pad for the product development side of Outer Level and brought Jon full-circle to what he started back on his VIC-20.

Jon is a passionate photographer, loves to cook, watch the Boston Red Sox, and to travel the world.
