Founded in the summer of 2000, Outer Level began life as a software consulting firm developing custom applications and websites for clients.
In 2005 Outer Level diversified by releasing its first Mac OS X product, Bullfrog. In March of 2007, we released our second product, LicenseKeeper. Then in July of 2008 we introduced our first iPhone game, Bullfrog Touch. In April of 2010 we acquired Knapsack.
Outer Level is a privately held company located near the base of the Santa Cruz mountains in Silicon Valley, California.

Jon has been programming since he was ten years old. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and later went on to study Film and Animation at Columbia College, Chicago. After years of working for someone else, Jon struck out on his own and founded Outer Level. Jon handles everything from the day-to-day company operations to working on all of the company's products and websites. Jon lives in Los Gatos, California and is a passionate photographer, world traveler, and scuba diver. His wife also tells him that he's pretty handy in the kitchen. |

Kirby Turner has been programming professionally for more than 25 years and programming for fun even longer. His latest passion is iOS and Mac OS X programming, which he gravitated towards after becoming a Mac user in 2007. Currently, Kirby is working on Knapsack and his new book, Learning iPad Programming, A Hands-On Guide to Building Apps for the iPad. Kirby resides in Salem, Massachusetts and is the owner of White Peak Software. When He's not sitting behind the keyboard, he can be found hanging out with his family, hiking the mountains of New England, kayaking the waters in and around Salem, Massachusetts, and snowboarding down a mountain in search of powder. |
